Composition:A Geometrical Analysis of Old Master's Paintings

Noted for her award winning portraits, Beth Batchelor has received recognition as one of the Bay Area's most successful fine art painters, lecturers and teachers.

Fine Art Painting
Beth studied classical painting at the Leighton Art Academy, continuing the studio's high art standards with eminent instructor Alan McCorkle.
She has received acclaim for her vibrant and sensitive oil paintings and portraits, many of which grace private collections throughout the United States and abroad.

Beth is often commissioned by business clients to do portraits of their customers. Among her clients are TWA, Datsun Motors, National Used Car Association and American Flange Company.

A noted muralist as well, Beth
shares her knowledge and talent with others, helping children and the elderly tap their creative talents by painting group mural projects. She guided gifted children at the Neil Armstrong Elementary School in San Ramon, CA, in designing a 40-foot mural dedicated to the NASA Challenger crew. This artistic memorial depicts the birth and ensuing event of the earth's history up to the space age, including the moon landing and Neil Armstrong's portraits painted by Beth.

Beth teaches fine art, gives seminars, and donates art work to charitable and educational causes. A "teacher of teachers," she has juried many art shows. Beth and her retired sea captain husband, Steve, reside in Alamo, CA, where her home gallery Lanaii Studio is open for workshops.

Commercial Art
Beth began her career at age 14 winning an award in a textile design contest. She trained and worked as a commercial artist in New York for 13 years where she designed advertisements for many nationally-known products, provided graphic artwork for magazine covers, and illustrated children's books.
